7 Things We Never Need to Worry About

June 2, 2015

Did you know there are at least 7 things we never need to worry about? ‘

As I’ve grown older, I’ve made it a point to not waste a day worrying about something I can’t control.

I wish I’d had that mindset when I was younger. How many days have I wasted, how many stomach aches could I have spared, how much less stress could I have had if I’d remembered that the One who controls all things has my back and has my situation under perfect control?

Let me take this time to remind you — and encourage you — of the things you, too, never need to worry about if you are trusting in the One who can do all things:

  1. If you know personally the Great Physician, you never need to worry that you suffer with a condition that no doctor understands or can treat. Nothing takes Him by surprise. No condition is outside of His league.
  2. If you know the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), you never need to worry about where your next meal will come from.
  3. If you, like David in Psalm 101, “walk within (your) house in the integrity of (your) heart, and set no worthless thing before (your) eyes” (Psalm 101:2-3), you never have to worry about your reputation. God’s got your back.
  4. If you are investing in eternal things, you never have to worry that you will be robbed, ripped off, or wiped out financially (Matthew 6:20). He takes great care of what you give to Him.
  5. If you faithfully honor God with the first of what you have, you never need to worry that He won’t provide for you, financially and otherwise (Micah 3:10-13; Philippians 4:19).
  6. If you walk uprightly, you never need to worry that God will withhold something truly good from you (Psalm 84:11). (If you are walking uprightly now and it still seems like God is withholding, it either isn’t truly good for you, or it isn’t time.)
  7. If  you “commit to the Lord” whatever you do (Proverbs 16:3), you don’t need to worry that you’ll be short-changed, cheated, or destined for failure. God’s Word promises that your plans will succeed when they are fully committed to Him. Not only that, God’s Word also promises that God can work even the bad investments or the failures in your life for good (Romans 8:28). And when you are seeking Him first, He promises to take care of everything else (Matthew 6:33).

What do you worry about that is not included in this list? Let me know in the comment section below and in the coming weeks I’ll make sure I post a list of “7 More Things We Never Have to Worry About” that includes YOUR burden, too, and the reason — from Scripture — that you and I don’t need to stress about it any longer.

I know, Noku.Trusting God with our finances is one of the hardest, but most rewarding faith tests there is. God is ALWAYS faithful in honoring us when we honor Him first. I’m dealing with this first-hand right now. 🙂

Being 57 yrs old and still wondering when it will be “my time” (your #6) – when will I be good enough to have it be ‘the right time’ to see manifestation of dreams and desires of my heart. Walking in all the light and wisdom I know and still delayed answers – hard to hold onto hope that anything will change to get us out of our cave experience of the past 5 years (health, multiple surgeries, income cuts, etc.) – in spite of doing 1-7 above for over 28 yrs of being a Christian.

I know that’s a tough situation, Christina. The waiting is SO difficult, at times. I know we can never be “good enough” for Him to bless. He blesses because HE is good and He blesses us according to what He sees as our eternal good, which we often can’t see. I will ponder this and prayerfully provide more for you in next week’s blog. Thanks for sharing your heart.

I am a single mum, with 4 kids 2 boys and 2girls, I got divorced about 10years ago, and ever since then I have been supporting my kids on my own,I bought my own house, I bought my own car,i have tried to do my best , I have been in a relationship for about 6 years after my divorce but that didn’t work out aswell, but I have been going to church my whole life, but I have been on/off to church. Last year I decide to fully commit my life to God, I started attending church regular ,starting tithing and just got involved in church, God has done some amazing things in my life already, But for some reason I am really battling to stay focuses in pray and faith, I still have the attitude that I need that back up plan just incase God doesn’t come through for me. I have been with this company for 3years now and decided that I need to move on because we don’t get increases or bonus at the current company and financially its just become impossible to live, I started applying for other jobs since January , I have been for so many interviews, even more than I can count but nothing , and ever since I commited my life to God again I have been faithful with my tithes, some nights I don’t feel like praying thinking that God is not listening, I don’t sleep very well worrying about everything , but I still believe God is in control…

Thank you, Janine, for letting me know what keeps you awake at nights. I completely understand. And I’ve been there, in some ways. I will address this situation of “worrying that God doesn’t hear my prayers” in next week’s blog. Stay tuned.

A good topic Cindi! I find it is generally a touchy one for most. I am grateful everyday through it all, that God does my worrying. If I feel it coming on I simply say, “This is yours Lord” and I feel that peace wash over me.
